Wherever I go I always try to look out for any Gothic themed or eccentric restaurants, bars, cafés etc. In Buffalo, NY it was The Merry Shelley & it certainly did not disappoint.
The best way to describe it is a dark romantic literary bar. The place has excellent ambiance, a great vibe, real cool cats on staff & a fantastic drink selection. I would have tried the food too but I had already gorged myself on Buffalo Wings & accidentally stumbled into an Italian festival on the way ha. Not that I needed one but a fine excuse to do a follow-up visit! They also have tarot readings & the like, as well as all sorts of music & entertainment. Most unique is the encouragement of patrons to enjoy a good book while there, whether their own or from the various selections available on the bookshelves in the lounge. Wonderful place 🍻👻
