I always have specific haunts in mind when I travel somewhere & every now & then I stumble upon something else that turns out to be as incredible, if not more so. The Armour-Stiner (Octagon) House in the Sleepy Hollow area was definitely one such example, so much so I feel it deserves more than one feature. This amazing Victorian mansion built in 1872, one of the only fully domed octagonal residences is truly a work of art. It has been reported to be haunted by the spirit of a woman who frequented the house with her boyfriend, sadly if I'm not mistaken believe she died in a train crash never to see her love again. Her apparition is most commonly accompanied by the scent of lavender which she was known for. Now I must say even if the place didn't have any paranormal history I would have still regarded it as one of the highlights of my stay in Sleepy Hollow, which is saying a lot. If you are planning to visit the area this is a must see. Absolutely magnificent.
